Broaden your knowledge and business potential—plus earn ECTS credits.
In some of WHU´s Executive Education programs, you have the option to earn ECTS credits (between 6 and 15 ECTS). ECTS stands for European Credit Transfer System, which was developed to make studies and courses more transparent. ECTS allows credits taken at one higher education institution to be counted towards a qualification studied for at another. ECTS credits also display the workload for a course or study program: 1 ECTS credit converts into 25-30 hours of workload.
ECTS has been adopted by most of the countries in the European Higher Education Area as the national credit system and is increasingly used elsewhere.
Earning ECTS credits within our Executive Education programs will give you the following advantages:
- Earned ECTS credits can be accredited to study programs at a later point in time, whether for WHU´s Part-Time, Full-Time, or Online MBA program or at another institution.
- Earned ECTS credits will showcase the workload of the Executive Education program you participated in. This may help you when showing your (future) employer the time and effort you took to participate in our program. 1 ECTS credit converts into 25-30 hours of workload.
Take an exam
In our ECTS-granting programs, you need to take exams to earn the ECTS credits. Depending on the course structure and content, this may be an essay, a calculation, a multiple-choice test, or an oral exam.
Accreditation of ECTS credits for study programs
Please note, that the ECTS credits to be accredited may differ depending on the current course contents etc., which makes an individual consultation and accreditation process necessary.
Admissions requirements
If you want to earn ECTS credits, you need to meet the following admissions requirements:
- Proof of a Bachelor’s or equivalent first degree is necessary.
- At least 2 years of post-graduate work experience.
